The Taishan Nuclear Power Project is a joint venture between EDF and China Guangdong Nuclear Power Group, it is the second nuclear power station to be built using Areva’s 1,750 megawatt EPR and it is the second time Areva has used Ellis’ products to secure electrical cables at a nuclear plant. Our first specification for Areva was for its OL3 reactor in Finland in 2009, and was secured as a result of our proven technical expertise and excellent industrial references.

France’s electricity transmission system operator, RTE, required cleats to secure cables in a technical gallery and risers connecting substations in the La Bocca area of Cannes. As the leading name for power supply in France, RTE was looking for a tried, tested & trusted solution to secure their installation.

Curtis LNG plant, located on Curtis Island – the second largest island on the east coast of Queensland (after Fraser Island) and the largest island within the boundaries of the Great Barrier Reef World Heritage Area.

The BP4 tower development at 25 Churchill Place, Canary Wharf, is a 23 storey tower comprising of 530,000 sq. ft. of high quality commercial accommodation. The building is designed to achieve an “Excellent” BREEAM rating.

Ellis was approached by a customer who required a solution for a cable management challenge. The customer was using a mobile generator and required short circuit protection for the cables from the generator to where the electricity was required approx. 20m away. The solution needed to provide short circuit protection and also be easily transportable.

An upgrade to the cable systems at the USACE operated Fort Randall Dam, required a flexible system to be designed to cope with thermodynamic movement of the cables. With no prior experience of such systems, USACE & Interstate Electrical Contractors Inc. contacted Ellis for assistance. The requirement was to install 12 cables onto an existing support framework which left limited space for installation

Ellis were approached by a customer who required a cable support solution in a joint bay. Space was limited and a number of cables needed to be accommodated for. The structures would be required to be supplied in kit form to be assembled on site, due to site and shipping restrictions.

The requirement was to feed seven 117mm diameter cables along a specified route within a fabricated structure, which featured a significant number of twists and turns. The problem was that there was no existing product that would enable the cables to be installed in an efficient, safe and cost-effective manner.
