The Taishan Nuclear Power Project is a collaborative effort between EDF and China Guangdong Nuclear Power Group.
It utilizes Areva's 1,750-megawatt EPR, making it the second nuclear power station to adopt this technology.
Ellis' products have been utilised for securing electrical cables at the Taishan Nuclear Power Project.
This marks the second instance of Areva using Ellis' products for cable security in a nuclear plant.
Ellis initially provided specifications for Areva's OL3 reactor in Finland in 2009, showcasing their technical expertise and industrial references.
The partnership between Ellis and Areva demonstrates continued reliance on proven expertise and reliable products for nuclear power projects.
On this occasion, Ellis recommended a combination of Emperor Cable Cleats and ProTect Cable Straps.
The Emperor Cable Cleat is designed for use where the highest levels of short circuit withstand are required, and are available for both trefoil and single cable applications.
Ellis ProTect Straps are designed for installation between trefoil cleats. They enhance short circuit capabilities by retaining trefoil formation and allow greater fixing distances between cleats to reduce installation time and cost.
Both products are manufactured in 316L stainless steel meaning they provide the ultimate corrosion protection even in the harshest of environments. The Emperorâ„¢ cleat's patented design makes installation quick and easy and an integral LSF zero halogen polymeric liner and base pad that protects and cushions cables during short circuit.
