The world’s leading cable cleat manufacturer, Ellis has expanded its in-house product design team with the appointment of Tom Dunbar as design engineer.
Tom, who has vast experience in various mechanical design and draughtsman roles, joins a team headed by chief engineer, Stephen Walton, which is responsible for new product design, existing product development, product testing and the company’s burgeoning bespoke solutions facility.
Commenting on his appointment, Tom said: “Ellis is a local business with a truly global reputation, and I’m thrilled at being given the opportunity to join a company that counts Siemens, Petrobras, Network Rail and Balfour Beatty amongst its regular customers; and designs products, both standard and bespoke, that are specified for use in many of the world’s biggest projects.”
Chief engineer, Stephen Walton, added: “In the last few months alone we’ve been called in to design, manufacture and help install brand new, bespoke cable cleat solutions for both the Severn Tunnel and the New Wear Crossing. We also have a number of brand new products in the development pipeline, and are taking regular enquiries about project specific requirements. All of which adds up to a team that will benefit greatly from the vast experience and great ideas that Tom brings with him.”
