Rillington-based Ellis Patents picked up one of its industry’s biggest awards last week when its newest cable cleat was named Innovative Industrial Product of the Year at the Electrical Industry Awards.
The event, which is run by leading trade publication, Electrical Times, saw the recently launched Ellis No Bolts cleat selected from a short list of six to receive the much sought after accolade.
Richard Shaw, managing director of Ellis, said: “We are firmly established as the world’s leading cable cleat manufacturer, and our next aim is to be recognised as the global solutions provider in the field of cable installation.”
“In business terms, this means we want to be the first port of call for consulting engineers working on major infrastructure projects anywhere in the world. To achieve this we need to boost our reputation as market innovators, and so winning a prestigious Electrical Industry Award for innovation is a major step forward for Ellis.”
The Ellis No Bolts cleat is an all polymeric cable cleat primarily designed to alleviate a fixing problem that was causing Network Rail health and safety concerns. Stackable in nature, the product vastly enhances the speed and ease with which cable cleats can be installed and additional cable runs added to existing installations. It is manufactured from a high strength nylon specifically formulated to meet the London Underground 1-085 approved specification.
